Eric's Vision
The Sheriff's responsibility is to maintain law and order, service of civil process, court security, and jail administration. Here are the issues Eric hopes to tackle if elected your next Sheriff.
- Improve relationships between the Sheriff's Office and local police departments, as well as other responding state agencies.
- Increased combined training opportunities, with emphasis on active shooter responses.
- Increase school safety by staffing two (2) School Resource Officers (SROs) per Duplin County Elementary and High Schools.
- Improve the culture and mindset to be a more proactive Office in dealing with crime throughout our county.
- Focus resources to target known hot spots for drug and criminal activity.
- Work with community leaders to reinstate Community Watch programs, empowering citizens to work hand in hand with law enforcement, addressing criminal and drug activity in their communities.
